Until someone like Professor Brian Cox or Professor Richard Dawkins are convinced aliens have been here I will believe it is likely other life forms exist many millions of miles away but not the technology to get them here.....yet.

Unacknowledged!
by Awakenednow inso...i watched the new netflix movie, "uncknowledged" by dr steven greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown.
it makes a strong case for ufo's and totally screws up jw doctrine about the earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the gb will need to do some fast talking.
it will be fascinating to blow some jw minds with this.

I know 2 bros who met their wives on there but when some sisters from the same congregation joined they were "counselled" and warned there would be consequences if they didn't leave.
Both men married women 20+ years their senior and both were German living in UK. Weird coincidence. As far as I am aware they are still married. One couple went to Germany and the other stayed local.

This is why the Elders should always call the WT society or personal attorney before ever talking to the Police.
by StoneWall inthis is probably going to unnerve some on here or make them uncomfortable.we always hear, why didn't the elders call the cops first instead of the wt society (lawyers/attorneys).
in cases of child molestation or other incidents.this video is why and if you're smart you'll follow their example.i'm not taking the wtbts side on this just so you know in advance because i do not agree with the two witness rule at all.but be that as it may, this is by far the best lawyer/attorney and law professor i've ever heard on the subject of why you should never talk to the police and always let an investigation be made through counsel.this is why in the usa you have the right to remain silent when talking to police/authorities but even more important what the fifth amendment really entails and why it would behoove us all to understand what can happen even if you are totally innocent and have nothing to hide but how things can go horribly wrong.if i ever have to go to court for anything i can only hope that i got a lawyer as competent as this one the vid is approx 46 minutes long but well worth investing that time because if you had to talk to a lawyer it would cost you a lot to receive what this professor covers in this.the majority is from the law professor and the remaining minutes are of a former police captain/investigator with his insights and opinions.and just to be clear, i'm not suggesting that the elders not call the police because they should in cases of child molestation but rather they better get legal advice to protect themselves so that they don't have to answer for the wtbts decisions.look how many former (ex) elders we have on sites like this one and others and i'm so happy they got free of the wt but also they didn't get in trouble by accidentally saying/doing the wrong thing.all of us can benefit by following this advice in the video and i hope you enjoy it and to know what your rights arehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-7o9xyp7ee.

I would have put my hand up even tho clearly innocent and nowhere near the crime scene as I am in UK but on that premise could be found guilty of a crime I did not commit.
The second guy talking about the Police brutality overseas he thinks goes on but that is not allowed in USA seems blissfully unaware of all the trigger happy Police we hear about or perhaps he excludes shooting and killing innocent (until proven otherwise in a court of law) citizens as a form of Police brutality and means just beatings alone.

Hi from England
by victimofdeceit inrecently quit being a jw because i realised that beyond armageddon i was going to be ruled by people who cover up child abuse, not telling the congregations by their letter where the money they donated in the box is going towards paying compensation for legal battles which they caused, and also i was bullied by elders and discriminated against for being homosexual, even though i am not practicing it.
it wasn't until i threatened legal action for a breach of confidence that the elders were deleted.
so through the media and my own personal experience, i realised that they were no different to corrupt businesses in the world.

JWs biggest problem is not doctrinal issues
by Chook init's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.
the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.
gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

It was lack of love woke me up. First for the lack of any compassion allowed for African boat people who washed up on our beaches in Fuertevrntura. Bible studies only, no practical help like money food, clothes or even toys for the children in case "They came into the truth for the wrong reasons".
Then after I had a masked man ( never identified or caught 8 years later) come in thru my bedroom window and attack me not one bro or sister called round, phoned or e-mailed. A year later one sister informed me she was shunning me cos i wasnt going to meetings. Their identifying mark is definitely not love.

Did a current or ex-JW help you to awaken?
by TweetieBird inwas there something that was said to you that got the wheel turning in your brain, that caused you to start waking up to ttatt, either by a jw or ex-jw that you didn't know was awake?
i'm trying to think of things i can say or ask of my current family members still in that may help them to start seeing the real truth about the organization.
they think we're still in..

My awakening was through a number of events over a period of time.
My depression was making meeting attendance harder and harder so missing meetings and no longer getting the constant indoctrination probable allowed me to start thinking negatively about the org and my bros and sisters "imperfections"
Being "counselled" by an elder not to help the Africans that washed up on our beaches by giving them money, clothes or toys for their children (I was living in Fuerteventura at the time) but to "only offer them Bible studies in case they come into the truth for the wrong reasons" so we went after dark and did it in secret and that seemed so wrong to me.
Shortly after I was really busy just having bought the company I worked for and working really hard but meetings were not the same any more after discovering an elder while I had been ill had instructed the congregation to "leave me alone for a bit as I had gone off the rails" felt a tad unloving.
Then I had a masked man come thru my bedroom window and attack me and we fled back to UK. I found the KH and we went to the memorial and I told my bros and sisters what had happened and where we were staying. That was 2009. No-one came, called or messaged and I am still waiting.
For me injustice and missing meetings got me out but it took a whole year of searching before I started to doubt it was "the truth" was the problem not me.
Reading Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz was what finally freed me.

I voted Labour even tho everyone said Labour could not win here as in over 100 years since the seat was created it has never been red.
Guess what?
It's red! Totally delighted for a local lad born and bred a few streets away and looking forward to seeing what he can do.
